1. The Golden Gate Bridge. This iconic feat of engineering connects the city of San Francisco to California's northern counties. Construction on the bridge took four years, from 1933-1937. The bridge has a 4,200 foot long suspension. It is the ninth longest suspension bridge in the world. The color of the bridge is known as "international orange." The color was chosen by the Architect Irving Morrow, he felt that the color complimented the natural landscape.

2. Cable Cars. The San Francisco cable care system is the last remaining manually operated system in the world. The cable cars run on three remaining lines that highlight the best of San Francisco. The Powell-Mason line begins at the Powell Market and runs up and over Knob Hill and ends at Fisherman's Wharf. The Powell-Hyde line also begins at the Powell Market but takes riders to destinations such as the Aquatic Park near Ghiradelli Square. The final line is the California line, it takes passengers on an east-west tour of the city. Stops on the California line include: the Financial District, Chinatown, and Van Ness Avenue.

3. Fisherman's Wharf. Fisherman's Wharf is a favorite destination for many visitors to San Francisco. It is the home base for San Francisco's fishing fleet. Today, Fisherman's Wharf is still an active center for fishermen as well as a popular destination for dining, shopping, and sightseeing.
