Lee Harbert Promotes the Interests of Schoolchildren

Experienced financial executive Lee Harbert makes a point of contributing funds to the George Peabody Annual Fund, because he values elementary education in his community. As a resident of San Francisco, Lee Harbert believes that advancing the interests of schoolchildren is a crucial part of supporting the community.

As the father of two sons, Lee Harbert understands the needs and challenges of parents. Lee Harbert knows that supporting a family is hard work and that finding time to build relationship with your children can seem impossible. Throughout the course of his career, Lee Harbert has been promoted to influential positions that kept him constantly busy. However, finding time for his sons has always been a priority in Lee Harbert’s life.

With the government continuing to cut back on educational funding, Lee Harbert is convinced that individuals with disposable income available must act to resolve the problems that arise in schools. Several areas that Lee Harbert hope to assist through his charitable donation include:

-          Programs for the arts in the schools
-          Adequate compensation for teachers
-          Funds for equipment for classes and extracurricular activities
-          Well-rounded educational experiences for students

Lee Harbert also aspires to raise awareness of the problems that are currently plaguing schools. If you are interested in getting involved, Lee Harbert recommends taking these steps:
-          Volunteer at a local school. You could tutor, lead an after-school group, coach a team, or help with school repairs. Every little bit of assistance counts.
-          Donate funds to local organizations that offer aid to schools. The George Peabody Annual Fund is an excellent example, but you can find an equivalent organization within your own community too.
Attend school events. When your local schools present concerts or games, go and support them! Check out the school’s rendition of a classic musical or cheer on the football team. Kids love seeing their fans!
